Ever since the Honda Civic debuted 5 years ago, it has been through a bumpy and often treacherous journey especially if you consider that during this time it has been shrouded in major controversy and garnered several bad reviews. However, ever since Honda performed radical surgery on the Civic by improving most of its segments, it rose to its feet and became more competitive. For the 2018 model year, the 2018 Honda Civic will get several substantial changes including a technology rich interior, daring looks, an advanced infotainment system, a zesty and fuel-efficient turbocharged engine and a spacious trunk that should fit just about everything.
2018 Honda Civic Exterior and Interior
Similarly to all 2018 Honda Civic, the new one offers comfortable and serene ride, drives and feels sporty, and is now more compliant than it has ever been before. Interior wise, a lot can be said about the Civic offerings ranging from the laudable soft to touch materials to the upgraded infotainment system. The 2018 Honda Civic will be offered in coupe and hatchback styles, and will be offered in 5 trims: base LX, EX, EX-L, EX-T, and the top of the line Touring trim. 2018 Honda Civic the base LX trim will have an expanded view driver’s side mirror, full power accessories, LED daytime-running lights, a 5-inch touchscreen interface, a telescopic and tilt steering wheel, automatic headlights, automatic climate control, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, Pandora connectivity, driver height-adjustment, manual front seats and a four-speaker premium sound system. On the EX trim will be 40/60-split folding rear seatbacks, heated side mirrors, variable intermittent wipers, an eight speaker sound system, 16 inch alloy wheels, LaneWatch lane change assistant, a multifunction trip computer, a 7 inch touchscreen interface, Apple Carplay, Android Auto, smartphone app integration and a review camera.
2018 Honda Civic the EX-L trim will tack on an auto-dimming rear view mirror, a shift knob, leather upholstery, a leather wrapped steering wheel, as well as a power driver’s seat. The EX-T trim will feature an HD and satellite radio, 17 inch alloy wheels, automatic dual-zone climate control, a rear decklid spoiler, fog lights, heated front seats and remote start. Finally, the Touring trim will come equipped with a ten-speaker audio system, a 4-way passenger seat, LED headlights, an integrated navigation system, automatic emergency breaking, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control.
2018 Honda Civic Engine
A 4-cylinder 2.0 Liter engine generating 158 hp and 138 pounds peak torque will be fitted in the EX and LX trims. This engine will be joined to a CVT and a six speed manual transmission. The Touring, EX-T and EX-L trims will be fitted to a 1.5 Liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine generating 174 hp and 162 pounds peak torque. 2018 Honda Civic the CVT system is the sole transmission system provided.
2018 Honda Civic Price & Release Date
The 2018 Honda Civic will be offered at an MSRP of around $19,000. As for its release date, it should be available in Honda dealerships early this year.
